Shavuot Ice Cream Party Round Up
Friday afternoon, as the skies darkened and drizzled, putting a chill in the air, over 50 people gathered at the at the classy Tuscany room at the Ayres Suites to celebrate Shavuot by learning and listening to the Ten Commandments and eating ice cream and cheesecake, Challah and salads, and other delicious foods. In a warm and joyous atmosphere, adults and children gathered in friendship, just as they assembled so many years ago at the foot of Mt. Sinai. Insightful discussion, meaningful Torah service, engaging children’s programs, delectable food, and, above all, good company made the day a unique pleasure for all. A very special thank you to Amy Levy, Gina and Tory Flanders, Sara Greenberg, Annette Garber and the many volunteers who put time and effort and ownership into making this special event happen.

Shavuot Holiday
No need to rid your home of bread or get sick on 4 cups of wine. No need to fast or sit in Shul all day. On Shavuot we celebrate by eating cheesecake,blintzes, ice cream, and other dairy.
Shavuot is the day when we experienced the Giving of the Torah,the great revelation on Mount Sinai, over 3,300 years ago.
And children too feature big: our sages tell us G‑d was looking for guarantors that the Torah would be cherished for eternity. He was unsatisfied until the people offered, “Our children will guarantee our continuity”.
So join us for as we relive the giving of the Torah for 3322nd time with a reading of the Ten Commandments, insightful discussion for adults, special children's program for children, followed by Kiddush and ice-cream party with a light dairy buffet .
