Eve of 7  Teves – December 18

Dear Friend,

I hope you and yours are well, and I pray that G‑d bless you with all you need and desire for the good.

As we approach the end of the fiscal year I turn to you with a personal request: Please help us continue our vital work here in the community by donating to our year-end drive!

Large donations, and small ones too, make you a partner and combine to help us reach our crucial year-end goal this year of $36,000.

Please give generously, and share with family or friends, at www.jewishrsm.com/donate (Paypal and Zelle at [email protected] or check made out to Chabad RSM).

A huge thank you, too, if you help throughout the year by donating or volunteering. You truly inspire!

RSM community is not large, but countless people are touched and serviced throughout the year, from near and far, thanks to you and your partnership.

This past Chanukah-week alone, in addition to our Mommy and me, community dinner, public menorah-lighting event, and the Menorah display on the parkway, our activities included:

Lighting candles with a special-needs man living alone, now a distance away;

Helping set candles and bring Chanukah joy for a couple in their nineties;

Broad, intensive – and thank G‑d miraculously successful – efforts to bring Chanukah candles of hope, warmth, and light for a young person temporarily behind bars, in addition to ongoing visits and inspiration;

Guiding and providing Jewish inspiration at a funeral for the sudden death for the 22-year-old granddaughter of a community member;

And various other supportive interactions.

In hospital visit examples from earlier this year, actual examples include the following:

A neglected RSM man in a run-down nursing home received a weekly visit until his passing, reconnecting him with his Jewish faith that was under assault, and showing the staff he was important to be cared for;

A fully-conscious woman, whose illness caused her to give up on life and plan an assisted suicide, chose to stay alive after our friendly “goodbye” visit;

A terminally-ill patient was visited frequently, easing his final months, and the family received support immediately afterwards.

A holiday visit with provision of Jewish comfort food that literally brought curing to a patient who couldn’t eat hospital fare.

And what can compete with:

The shining faces of a toddler who has just made her own fresh challah or a child who has just challenged the artist and received a real balloon in the shape of a Menorah, or the pride shining on the face of a Bar Mitzvah boy having just completed his readings, a happy emoji-filled message from a person touched by a reach-out, or the uplift and atmosphere of unity and strengthening support in the various gatherings – especially in times like these.

There is so much more, but the point is this: You can help Jewish community, continuity, and connection by going to www.jewishrsm.com/donate

We can’t do it without you!

At Chabad Jewish Center there are no membership dues. What keeps our doors open is local community support and your voluntary giving and generous investment, with G‑d’s help.

Rochel and I deeply appreciate your incredible friendship and support that has helped us this far in our vital mission.

Click here to make a tax-deductible donation before the end of the year by credit card, or contact me if you’d like to drop it off or have it picked up in person. Additionally, you can use Paypal or Zelle to [email protected] – add “year-end” into the note (for Venmo or other, please contact personally).

Also, please consider joining our Circle of Support for next year.

A committed amount for the year, or by monthly amount such as $360, $250, $180, $118, $100 or even smaller amounts, like $36, $54, $72 all accumulate into reliable support. You can enter a recurring c.c. donation online here or contact me to discuss.

If you already have joined the Circle of Support, thank you very much. (Can you consider raising the amount for this next year?)

The act of giving brings tremendous blessing and prepares the world for the peaceful and beautiful time of Moshiach.

We wish you and yours abundant blessing in your lives, including nachas, happiness and good health, prosperity and purpose, and the best of news for all of us—in the Holy Land and around the world.

With deep gratitude and warm regards,

Sincerely,

Rabbi Zalman A. Kantor
